We'd rather tell you up front than mid-quote. If your usage is light or you're moving soon, a quality tank can be the smarter buy, and we'll say so.
- Your gas line. Most tankless units need a larger gas line than your old tank used: 150,000+ BTU on demand is real draw. If the line needs upsizing from the meter, that's real pipe work, and it's the single biggest reason quotes differ between homes. It's itemized in every written quote we give.

How long does a tankless water heater last?
15–20+ years with annual maintenance, roughly double a storage tank. In Sonoma County's hard water, the annual descaling flush is what gets you there.
How often does it need maintenance?
Once a year: a descaling flush and a check of the filter, venting, and condensate. Skipping it in our water shortens the heat exchanger's life and can void the warranty.
Can one unit really handle my whole house?
Sized correctly, yes. Sizing is about simultaneous use: how many showers, taps, and appliances run at once. That's part of every estimate we do; an undersized unit is the #1 cause of tankless complaints.
What about electric tankless?
